Automotive ECU fault simulation is often used at prototype design to simulate most faults. This can be done manually by shorting pins to Ground or Vcc or by simulating opens or shorts. By means of PXI Fault Simulations Modules these faults can be simulated according a fixed repeatable procedure. 

Every Diesel engine contains multiple temperature sensor to monitor engine behavior. To test the Control Modules is not wanted or realistic to use a complete Diesel Engine. Simulating these temperature sensor is more than welcome, which  simulates a fixed temperature. PXI RTD modules can be used by automatic simulating every temperature needed. 

For the development of new medicins, or the manufacturing or storage of medicins or substances for pharmaceutical purposes, monitoring of environmental conditions is demanded by the FDA part 11.   Temperature, humidity, particle density, and pressure needs to be acquired and stored.   Also, any intervention in the process should be recorded for audit purposes.
