Where precision data acquisition is concerned, you choose systems that usually consist of a 6½ digit multimeter in conjunction with a multiplexer of mechanical relays and a single housing. Another feature is the integrating A/D converter for high precision down to low signals with minimal static noise. Signal conditioning (to ± 10 V or 4-20 mA) is unnecessary because the relay cards and the multimeter can cope with a broad signal of up to 1,000 V. These systems can be controlled via USB, LXI and GPIB. There are also data loggers featuring high resolution A/D converters up to 24 bit.
