Data loggers are independently operating instruments that you configure via a PC (connected by USB, LAN, WLAN or 3G/4G) and run through an application. A data logger collects data from sensors and/or connected peripherals through a communication bus. Data is stored, analysed and possibly exported to external media such as an ftp server or cloud. A data logger can use data analysis to send an SMS or e-mail alert or take other action, for example, controlling external sensors or equipment. Data loggers are used in laboratories as well as on site in various technical industries.
